Has anyone ever carry the 360 engine in the back of Toyota Sienna Van? Will it safe? Its 200 miles trip.

Thanks!

I haven't actually done it, but it should carry safe, no problem.  Depending on how built it is (short block, long block, all the accessories?), it should weigh between 400 - 600 lbs.  Just make sure it's well-secured and don't forget that the van will handle differently with that big lump of iron way out back.  You may want to put something impermeable down to catch any fluids if you care about the carpeting.

I'm always afraid to do this because, if your in a wreck, that 500lb mass is coming forward in a hurry.

Strap it down to the rear cargo holds on top of a tire or something.

I had to lift a 318 a while back with another guy, wasn't too bad as a longbock.

I picked up a 340 block and crank in Vegas.  I'm in San Diego.  I opted to rent a small truck instead of putting it on the back of my Mini Cooper, which could have done it.  I could not escape the imagery of making a sudden stop, or a crash and having that thing come at me.

I put a 440 shortblock in the back of my Pathfinder and drove about 45 minutes home with it. All I did was cut lenghts of 4x4 to wedge the block in there. However handling was terrible.

Strap it down and make sure that it is forward of the rear axle, fitting it into a tire is a good idea, I usually do this when in a hurry and don't have time to make a wooden frame.   :2thumbs:
