I can't help you with the trans, but I can resize your avatar.

The transmission is pulled, now just digging somewhere after some $$$. :smilielol:

Per

I LOVE your valve covers in the 2nd pic.....where did you get them, what brand are they and how much (if you would be so kind)?

Oh btw, you've got the best transmission expert in the USA working with you on this....Big T helped me rebuild my 904 a couple of years back on this forum.....and I had never opened a transmission prior to his help.  The damn thing is still running to this day!  Thanks again T!

If we never drown we'll never know how well it tastes....So tell me how it tastes and I'll know just how well you drowned.

HK, thanks. :2thumbs: I always hated that big pic coming up every time I visit the
forum. How can I put in as my avatar?

RDF, bought them from 440source. Really great together with the eddy heads, a surface that will never leak.

Right click on the small version, click "Save Image As" and save it to your desktop. Then go to your profile and click on the right thing (is that vague enough?) to upload the new version as your avatar pic. I can't remember what it's called at the moment.

I drained the converter of oil, filtered it a couple of times but can't find any traces of metal. Can it be that the converter still is OK or have all the metal already been
pumped thru the system and ended up in the pan? :clueless:

There is a very good chance that it is OK. You need to find the problem spot in the transmission though. No problem (metal wear area) in the trans then you have to ASSume that the problem came from the 'verter.

The tranny has been opened by the sixpack- speedshop overhere, no nice pictures.
I will send the parts back to TCI together with the dynosheet. Although it will
not help me maybe they can learn something from it and prevent others having the same bad luck as me.

Terry, any idea what happened here? :clueless:

You blew the low sprag out. That case can be fixed with a "bolt in sprag" Does this have a manual valve body? You ALWAYS want to use manual low when you are getting on it so that does not happen. If it has a manual VB and it is not low band apply that there is nothing you can do to prevent it (except not buy a no low band apply manual VB)
