    My new TCI tranny just blowed *pictures*

    For those of you that knows me from DC.COM you know I have been putting all free time and money into my Charger -68 the last 3 years. Now, after doing the final adjustments and tuning I took the first drive and that lasted 14 miles untill my brand new TCI transmission gave up. It sounds like a blowerengine, whining like h**l and not moving forward unless it's downhill although reverse is working.
    Since I bought it 2 years ago warranty isn't an issue and I don't have any money for rebuild for the moment so is there anything that I can check or do to make sure it's really waste? Is it maybe the converter anthough reverse is fine? I have the dynosheet from TCI but that one isn't worth much now. Man, have I learned my lessons building this car that I hopefully can gain in the Challengerproject. :banghead:

    I still have the "old " transmission which was very good that I could put up to be
    able to enjoy something of this summer but then I really need to be sure that it ain't the converter.

    If the converter was stopping you from having forward,it would also stop you from having reverse. Need to drop the pan and see what is in it. The whining noise is not a good sign.

    Agree with you on the converter, also the whiningnoice should be in P, N and R if it was the converter one should think. :clueless:

    I think dreaming about an oil and filterchange will get this transmission going again is useless. :eek4: Those are big pieces and I have had trannys with years of running with much less then this. Is there anything more I should/could check before pulling the trans?

Maybe it blocked up the filter and since you were driving in forward most of the time ,it smoked the forward clutches? If you want to remove the trans and take it apart,I will try and help you fix it thru a forum thread?
