I don't really follow you here. Should I have checked the spec before I bought it
and by that knowing if it would be strong enough for my setup or?

Is it a manual valvebody or automatic (shifts on it's own)?

It's an automatic then. I had a manual on my last Challenger but don't like it,
then you can go for a 4-speed instead.

ALWAYS use manual low when you are "peeling out" or getting on it hard from a dead stop and it will prevent the sprag blow up problem. It applies the low band also (which is not on in "D" low) and is alot stronger. Are you gonna fix it?

Here is the bolt in sprag. You will need an inner race also that is not supplied in the kit.http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TCI-127000/

A friend of mine bought a TCI tranny a while back with a non LBA manual valve body. I'm just waiting that one to blow up too.

They will now inspect/upgrade my original tranny so I can get my car on the road and then we will see what to do with the TCI junk since I brought that one aswell in case some hardware was needed.

Evidently the linepressure was set at max because the retainer holding the bigger piston was heavy deformed at the opening of the "ringclip". Did that had an influence? :dunno:

Just my opinion, but it sems to me that if Per had broken it (thru heavy foot, whatever), the thing would have exploded when the rpms came up slightly. I think that might have been fractured before he ran it. I'm sure TCI does not remove the outer race of the sprag during rebuilding. The way it broke it's like the governor support was off center. Weird...

Although sprag failure is not very rare in 727 trans i would say that TCI should be called Total Crap Involved.
