I found new Trico Exact-Fit blades Cat# 16-2 that are listed for Challenger/Cudas 70-74. Those plastic pieces bind up on the underside of the hood. These Tricos are made of steel and look exactly like the originals

Maybe you could change the blade out and keep the stainless if it attaches the same way?  :dunno:

I have those trico stainless blades now, I guess I can change the insert easy enough. Thanks guys!

I just didn't like the way they were chattering across the glass.  They are better now, smooth.

Has anyone checked to see if their blades cross the stainless trim on every stroke( I have 2 speed wipers) or if they stop shy on the glass and then park across the stainless only?

in my experience blades over a year old have to be replaced.  :2cents:

 :iagree:

seemed like they used to last longer... :dunno:  rainex does seem to help, even newer blades are noisy at times ... my truck is terrible..

Of course they used to last longer.  Now they are made with lower grade materials so we have to buy them more often.

I have 3-speed & they do not cross the trim except to park, I would not believe the 2-speeds would either, you probably don't have the right wiper motor for an e-body.

Great, it was in the car when i got it.  I'll have to take a look around.  I spent some quality time fixing it up too... :misbehaving:

Tom can you move the pivot part of the arm a couple of notches(the splined area) so they travel further up the glass and not so far down the glass?

I can try maybe, but I need to make sure they park fully too, not sure how that all work internally to the wiper motor.

I guess it's fine for now, but think that if I can correct this issue it would help with the noise it makes.LOL

Anyone else have a groove worn in the stainless trim from the wiper linkage?  I wonder what needs to be looked at to fix that problem?  Jules restores the linkages too but it's expensive.

Not a groove but at some point it seems the stainless trim no longer lay against the windshield in the middle & my wipers would hang there when parked. I removed & tried to correct with little success years ago, will be dealing with at some point in the future.

Sorry to hijack the thread a little but Bullitt - I had the same issue with the stainless trim hanging the wipers in park mode. This happened while wifey and I were on a wine tour so roadside repair was at the end of the day I got some black silicon (if the color really matters) gently pried the center of the stainless up and using the fine tip nozzle laid a copious amount of silicon in under the trim. Got a plastic bag from the garbage and placed it between the hood and the trim and used various round rocks jammed in to hold the trim in place overnight. I would imagine using a tapered piece of wood or HD foam in place of rocks. Bingo - she works just like it came from the showroom floor.

Tom - you may have something simple as the incorrect wiper linkage mounted off the back of the motor for where the wipers travel across the trim on every stroke. There were many configurations made by Mopar but I believe there are only one or two that work properly. Then you adjust for park position.
