speeding up the steering ?

2 things "bug me" about my car....the braking, and the slow steering!
 Other than the firm feel idler and pitman arms and a T/A steering box any creative idea's on speeding up the steering?  Are there new gear kits available to swap out in the power steering box? Seems like a good business opportunity for someone? I wonder if a bracket could be made to swap in a GM power steering box or something like that?

You can buy a rack and pinion assembly for about $1500.  Bolt in.

I take it this is a small gearbox that you add in?

Yes, they are an inline ratio multiplier, so they need to go between the steering wheel and steering box.

That's were/what I was thinking?  Although it would feel wrong putting a Gm part in my Mopar..... I wonder if you could make an "adapter bracket"? I'd like to get another K-frame to play around with.....that and a splined sway bar set up. I think I'd be more inclinded to use a stock car( woodward, sweet etc..) rack and pinion set up.... more durable/stronger, and you can replace parts when needed instead of the whole unit.

Exactly. The cost of the saginaw 16:1, 14:1 or 12:1 boxes plus the effort of the custom adapter.... Seems like a better deal to uses a steering quickner.

For the price I think I'd prefer a tubular K-frame & rack & pinion.

You can really open things up by using one of these, then put the quickener inline with a shaft to either the wheel or the box.
