What's old is new
« on: July 14, 2010 - 01:20:57 AM »
Hi all,

I can finally introduce myself formally.  I joined cc.com a number of months ago when the 'Cuda bug finally gave me a terminal bite... I had started searching for a Cuda, dodging a few scams and getting great advice from you all...  Turns out I came to the right place as black73cuda was getting his '73 ready for sale.

After a few months of talking with Mike (while he did a hell of a lot of work) the big day arrived today and the '73 finished its nearly two week trek from Arkansas to California.

The baton has been past to me for the care and feeding of BS23H3B567746.

Thank you Mike for all the work you did!

Alan

Welcome, looks like most of the hard work has been done, are you going to paint it black as appears to be what the jams have been done.   :woohoo:

Thanks guys.  Took the Cuda out to get registered at AAA today!  Sure is a rattle box right now, but was great fun.
Saw a couple guys in a late 60's Camero (in primer too)... they were happy to see a local Cuda.   Some day I'll have a kill story.  Ha!

Have to stop driving when it's 100 out... man was this one hot fish!

Hmmm...  deciding on that...  Black is sooo hard to keep clean in SoCal...
Considering a black & Lemon Twist Yellow combo of some kind...

I need to find a good place to get the paint done without loosing the house over it!  :)

Yellow & black sounds like a good color combination to me.
Black also absorbs the heat so way too hot unless you got A/C in that cuda.

I like your paint job AAR.  I don't want to copy it and I'm looking at doing it a little differently.

Welcome and it turns out something a little different isn't necessarily a bad thing!  When I bought my Mist Green 73 Barracuda earlier this year, both my wife & I were like "YUCH" the first time we saw it.  But with a good bath & time I've grown to love the 70s nature of the thing.  Ive actually gotten nothing but compliments on how it looks & specifically about the color.  So where my original plans for it was to go triple black which would still be a killer look for it, I'm 99% sure I'll go back with a pristine coat of 73 Mist Green when it comes time to do the body.
