Hey Tomas,My rear pan was only connected with the four tabs on each edge of the pan, two per side, the two sheet metal screws and the center brace that connects to the tail panel cross member. I am modifying the the cross member and making a small mount on each side to make a connection near the bumper guard hole to straighten out the pan. It will have to mount on the bottom of the cross member to miss the bumper mounts. Just a suggestion you may consider doing. Slotts
I just went through a issue similer to this as far as how it looked on the LH quarter. I found that the shop that put my lower quarter patch on did not bend the edge where the valance bolts to correctly. There is a a body line that looks as it would be where to bend the quarter in bmt that is only half true. If done incorrectly you get the diagnal line like you have in your pic. (I did that wrong myself first.)So I ended up with something like you have where the curve isn't correct. I had to undo the spot welds between the inner and outer rear quarter and re bend the quarter correctly. Then I had to drill new holes and also add the extention tab as my valance is aftermarket and lines up like junk without the quarter issue.
Short answer is yes. Your going to have to re shape it where it's supposed to be bent. My RH quater had no work done to it so I had a good templet to follow. The quarter should match the curve of the valance in that section. It wasn't easy for me and I ended up having to use some filler to get it where I wanted but if you are good at body work I think on the scale of 1-10 it would be a 4.
This 2.25" holes then,do they belong on a challenger? They looks stockEven if the quater panels is misplaced the shapes doesn´t fit at allvery confuses now
No. The 2.25" holes do not belong.Lets ask this... Are they cheap patch pannels that were used to repair that area? Maybe the new pannels have the wrong shape?
You mean the quater panels? They look similar to the ones I cut away and were fitting nice when I tested them "outside" of the old before cuttingI bought them from http://www.body-panel.com/So the 2.25" holes doesn´t belong there, but they are nicely done, like punched outLooks stock made to me
