    The fit looks better, but it also looks kind of like your bumper is sticking out further than normal.  The gap between the bumper and the body looks wider than on some of the other pics posted here.

    Yes but there is no sign of mishaps in those brackets or on the body so that I don´t know anything about  :dunno:

    Looking at the pics purple1 provided it´s not the same valance as mine
    The one on his pics are much "thicker"


    And as 73chally wrote it looks like my bumper is sticking out further than normal

    Under the green line on my pic is where the new quater panel is replaced

    I'd agree that the main issue is a low quality, poorly made quarter patch.

    You might be able to loosen the bolts on the bumper guard and move it outward a little.

    You mean outward side ways?
    Yes that´s possible but I find it more of a problem that the bumper guard is way to far out back wards

    Sideways, yes.

    Your bumper is probably fine and the patch panel is the problem again, with the bumper "pocket" in the wrong place.

    No the bumper pocket are placed at the correct place
    If you look at this pic (the left pic of those 2) the patch panel is replaced under that green line so the upper part of the pocket is the stock panel

    Only diff. in the valance is mine has the exhaust cutouts. Angle of the pic maybe? I does look like the bumper is sticking out a bit more than it should. Has the car ever been hit in the rear? Could it be the whole area has been pushed around or something?

    The car has been in Sweden since 1976 and not hit in the rear in that time anyway
    If someone repaired it before that they have done a great job because I can´t see anything looking like that
    Same colour,no welding in the frame etc etc

    Then the only thing that changed was the repair patch. Sounds like we have covered most other possibilities. Sorry to say that has to be it.

    I guess that´s the only solution but it can´t have moved the bumper pocket because only halv of ut has been replaced and that fitted perfect and also the part at the wheel area so the lengt beetween the was correct

    So I make the valance to fit on the car or will make a new in fiber glass
    Havn´t decided yet

     :wave:if it where my car i would rip my hair :horse:and then investigate further to find out whats wrong,and fix it.depending on what you are going with this car,maybe remake the valance.fiberglass valance sounds like a hassle.if the car is a keeper,do it right while you have it in pieces. :pullinghair:

    I`d cut the bumperbrackets and weld them where you want the bumper to seat and go from there.  In the end you want to have straight gaps and if you have to cut the valance 20x to get it right ,so be it,  but if your bumper sits crooked in there, it will never look straight.   :2cents:

    But the real problem is that the valance is to long and doesn´t fit at all
    The quater patch panels are changed but the upper hole for the valance IS NOT moved and that is also in the wrong place
    If I shall fix that I have to move the whole rear fenders out to get a wider body but the the bumper will have to get wider also
    So I make a new valance in fiber glass that fits on my car
