I recently had another customer call about a reproduction valance that was too long.  He had bought the valance about 10 years ago.  I sold him a new one and it fixed his problem.  Maybe your valance is not an original valance.  Worth a shot vs. welding and cutting.   :dunno:

I still want to say I think it is the patch panels that have it all out of wack. You can work around it or fix it right. Your choice.
Personaly if it were me, I would have to fix right at the point you are at.

But still
If the patches is wrong the upper holes for the screws that havn´t been changed is to wide appart
And if I moved them I have to move the entire rear fender out and then the the bumper will be to short or VERY close to the fenders

That´s one way
And cutting that up and weld it together after bending and moving the holes for the bumper gards etc
That is also to long
I prefer to make a new in fiberglass that fit´s on my car

Mine is too long as well.  I am pretty sure it's not original.  It also has this lame lic plate holder welded to it that does not allow the plate or a frame to be held properly.

You have to cut that off when using it on a 70 or 71

Thanks,  I was wondering about that.  Whats the preferred method of mounting the plate then?

Putting the 2 plastic plate mounts into the 2 square holes that are below that plate.  Surely you saw those on the valance, don't you? Have you looked?
