8 3/4 axle bearing question
« on: July 15, 2010 - 10:27:32 PM »
While looking for flange gaskets for the rear axles I came across this:

A. Rear Axle Bearing Set
This Rear Axle Bearing Set was specifically designed by Mopar Performance to eliminate the production bearing retainers and axle end play adjuster. Set contains two axle shaft bearings, two bearing retainer sleeves, two axle shaft seals and two axle flange gaskets.
P5249444 Rear Axle Bearing Set (1965 and Newer 8 3/4" and 9 3/4"Axles)

Pardon my stupidity but, does this mean I won't have to set end play on the right axle with the adjuster??? How are they doing that???? Is this as good as it looks??

Probably the "green" brg kit using roller ball brgs instead of the tapered roller brgs used from the factroy , yes it eliminates end play adjustment but will not last as long as the factory tapered roller

Then I am not switching over to it.

Thanks
