Hello from
« on: July 16, 2010 - 01:53:42 PM »
I recently purchased a 1970 Barracuda to complete with my father.  Basically, we want to build/finish this Barracuda as a Resto-Mod with updated mechanical components (e.g., brake, steering and suspension).

Body: 2 Door Hardtop

Engine: date correct 426 Hemi (rebuilt by Ray Barton Racing)

Transmission: 727 Torque Flight Automatic (contemplating a 4 speed with pistol grip)

Rear End: '742 8-3/4"

Interior: Green leather (at the moment) – completely reupholstered

The green interior is not to our liking, especially with a black exterior.  We are also contemplating adding a Shaker Hood.

Pictures can be seen here: (http://s745.photobucket.com/albums/xx99/jslionheart1/1970%20Barracuda/)

We need to attach the gas tank first!  My dad and I are going to the Nats next weekend in Columbus.  After that, we plan on ordering the parts to get the gas tank mounted and attached.  Once that is done, we should be able to fire up the Hemi.  If all goes as planned, I could have a video by the end of the month.

I plan on making a thread to chronicle our successes and failures throughout this build.  Perhaps the video should go in that thread - I'll update this thread if/when that happens!
