WTB 71 Cuda Project
« on: July 19, 2010 - 10:59:41 PM »
Looking for a 71 Cuda candidate for restoration to go with my 73 340 Cuda.  Must be a BS car with vin tag and fender tags.  Title would be nice but not necessary.  I'd like something that doesn't need all the metal replaced (read as: parts car), but send me what you have.  Please PM or email me.

Jon

6 mo later and I'm still looking... :(

I've taken a stab at the few that have come across this (and other) message boards but nothing has panned out yet.  I know some of you guys know someone that has a 71 that they'll "get to some day".  Give them my phone number!  724-640-4755.

What's your budget?
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Cody, the budget is flexible depending on what the car is.  I just don't want to get people asking me to pay 20k for a car that needs every piece of metal replaced.  Don't get me wrong I'll take on that project but people need to realize that even alchemy can't turn rust into gold.

I've been back and forth with Doug on that one for a while... he really didn't want to sell it to someone that wasn't local (which I understand and that is his right).

I believe at this point it may be sold although I put out another attempt to see if we could work something out.  If he'd entertain it; I'd have been happy to give him an offer.

Price seems right, although would require some work for sure.

This is the link to my 70 Cuda 340 4spd Original FM-3 Car. Not sure if you're into 70 Cudas but this is a super rare and wothwhile project. I just don't have the time or money to give it the high end restoration it deserves.

acudanut,

That one on ebay sure looks like a Cuda...  but it is listed as a Challenger.  Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me.

I'd consider mcemond's deal.  I won't lie... I'm not supersticious but his car does scare me.  I'm not positive he knows exactly what he has and he isn't close enough for me to go look at it.

crocha,

I really want a 71.  Your 70 looks like a great restoration candidate, but if I'm spending the bucks and putting in the wrench time then I want what I want.

mean green,

Is it BS or BH?  I doubt its a driver Cuda :)

I appreciate all the legwork guys!  I know I'll find what I want.  It'll take time though.

Not a BS Looks like it came with a 383 but now a 318. They got engine listed as 383 but then Description -

1971 Plymouth Barracuda 318 auto matic.runs and drives.Very original comes with all the parts.

Also go on to say no rust but clearly can see some on left quarter.

Also no gills ofc.

Finding a '71 'Cuda that doesn't require panel replacement that lives near you?

Expect to pay big $$$ and to wait a long time.
