Hate when they wreck nice cars! 
Whats with the window channel/frame on the Challenger???
I hate it when they wreck nice cars too, but I don't think those cars were too nice to begin with. They had several Challengers and Chargers for the sequence, but I think they were all junkyard cars it pretty bad shape that were patched together for these scenes. Maybe they could have been saved
The window frame was added because the plot requires one of the principals to be able to wrap a belt around a window frame
