my  :2cents: you would get more from a good CAI I am not aware of any HP gain from a shaker unless somehow it was made functional.

check out petty garage I think they are doing shakers and they have the braces call them and ask. or shop hemi.com

The shaker is functional, but I doubt it really gives you any HP gain.  It still routes the air back down and through the box, which pretty much remains in the stock location.  A CAI will give you just as much for pennies on the dollar, but of course a shaker looks really cool

i like the factrey hood myself and it is retro to the challenger, the shaker does look cool but if no hp gain its a rip off for 2k when you can get a cai from mopar for about 300 or so,i see you can buy just the shaker for about 800 or so but it looks funny without the right hood and that is wher the 2k comes in and you still would have to paint it.i would go with the shaker if there is a hp gain over the cai,i havent found any info on it

Just read a tech article in Mopar Muscle about a 40+ HP gain in the 6.1 with a new throttle body and CAI.  I'm sure it would be somewhere close to that with the 5.7, too.  It's probably 10-15 with just the CAI, and likewise for just the new throttle body.

The article used the 85mm, but not sure what the 90mm would get you.

People buy it just for the cool factor.

For me, NO way.    :grinno:

I just picked up a Cervini shaker setup at Carlisle for $1300. I will need to paint the hood and shaker bubble, figure add $500 for that. So I'm in $1800, and to be honest I dont care if it made 5-10 HP less, I'm adding it since I think shakers are the coolest looking hoods ever offered on a Mopar.

The shaker will give you almost no HP gain.  The boundary layer of air flows right over it, providing no benefits.

The Cervini Shaker Hood looks good on Mustangs, not Challengers.  The size is way off.

Here's the best one I've found so far,

http://www.challengertalk.com/forums/f134/afr-shaker-only-true-shaker-pictures-video-40365/

I'll get one eventually for looks, but not for any performance gains.

Neither of them do anything, it is all about looks, which one looks better.  You can call them up and work out a deal.
