Guess it would not hurt to throw in a low ball bid & hope for the best.

As a guy I used to know said, "Statistically, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take." Good luck if you go for it, Wade.

If the car is something that you really want then throw a bid at it. Just don't go over what you want to spend. There are cars that we loose alot because some exporters will pay 4 or 5 times what it's worth just to ship it over seas and rake in the cash.  Just last Friday a 2010 Camaro that was imo nothing but 1/4 back went for 10k. We wrote it for $1900 I guess they were banking on a good drive line but from seeing it in person it'd be iffy at best but a home run if the 6.2 6speed made it.
The car I really wanted for myself was a 2010 SRT8 Challenger in NJ. I don't know why it was wrote off as it was a hit at the rf post. Looked fixable to me as the pics showed.
I guessed a pillar-rocker, hood and fender.

Didn't we have a member in Louisville at some point?

Wade, technically...... nobody is at the auction... its live (atuomated) on the internet.. thats it! That is the major diff between Copart and IAA. You can attend the IAA auction as it has a "human " auctioneer, that is simlcast at the same time on the internet. AND they do not let just ANYBODY on to take a look at the cars. So a member being in Louisville would do little good.

Sounds like BS to me...Wish someone would go ahead & outbid the number I have in mind so I could just move on...I don't need the frustration.

Wade this morning pre-bid right now is $22100. I just noticed this car is "on approval" which means the seller has set a reserve..... so it may NOT sell. That car can be bought new here at just over dealer cost cause they are NOT moving right now. This is right from a contact at Dodge City. Anyway I doubt if it would get released for anything under 32-34K. But this is a guess' and markets elsewere could be different. Prices on EVERYTHING around here latley are through the roof!

Low-Mid 30's is what most 09's are being offered for... "on approval"=reserve,  why don't they just say "reserve not met"? ..Coparts sure is wasting a lot of advertising money just to make it difficult for the average joe to deal with them.

Thanks for the input & all the trouble you guys have gone to for me... I'm gonna forget this one, & try to learn a bit more before getting excited about a "deal".
