360 cam question

 I currently run a well built 360, J heads that flow around 250cfm, dual springs,dual plane intake ,3;55 posi with a 2600 stall. the engine at the moment has a 474 280 cam in it. sounds unreal, but i was wondering if there are any better options out there performance wise that wont hinder my street driveability. i dont race the car much, mostly just cruise with it so i really dont want to change the rear end or the stall but i would like to wake this engine up a little if i could.Any help from some of the pros outthere would be appreciated. thanks

Let's start at the top... What carb and what size? What intake manifold are you using?

On the other end, are you using headers?

holley 750, Mp1 dual plane intake. I bought this engine from a guy who used it just as a cruising engine. it still moves out very nicely, the chally runs high 13's, but i would just like to wake it up if at all possible

so you want more power or more diravbility ??
 the MP cams tend to have a lot of duration but limited lift , I like to go the other way & get more lift & control the duration , look into the Lunati Voodoo cams , or I can get a custom grind solid if you want to go to a solid cam . Roller is also an option but is much more costly

I would like more power. the car has great driveability at the moment. i would like to have more power without having to sacrafice any of the driveablility...........if at all possible. Or another option is : what other options do i have to wake this engine up a little more without spending major bucks, or killing the driveability?

I'd ask around to see if there is a good dyno tune facility in your area.  If you get the fuel and ignition timing dialed in on a dyno, I bet the car will run much better.

with cam design more lift is generally free HP up to the point where the head will not flow more air & or needs porting to improve flow , duration on the other hand controls where the powerband is RPM wise so if you want a higher power band add duration & over lap , if you want more power at the same RPM add lift & port work
