Hello all,

I just bought a shaker hood setup for my 70 Cuda. I was wondering if there is a list of what intakes will work with a shaker hood setup? I have a 383 with a single four barrel. My concern is that the edelbrock performer will be too tall and will cause clearance issues with the shaker hood.

Also I was planning on using an edelbrock performer rpm 750 carb.

I wouldn't rule out a mp aluminum intake either but I've used the performer rpm airgap in my 340 dart and I loved it so if I could use the Edelbrock Performer RPM or Performer with the 383 and shaker setup that would be ideal. Thanks for taking a look.

The Performer should be OK , Weiand ahs a couple of low dual plane intakes & Mopar has the M1 dual which is a copy of the original iron intake in alum .
The Perfromer is really not a good intake unlike the name would suggest , I would lean more towards the M1 personally

The Performer RPM may not be too tall. On the 383's the shaker bubble from the factory sits almost an inch or so lower than the 440 does, so if the Performer RPM intake is less than an inch taller (ish) than the factory iron intake there shouldn't be a problem. Also some people deal with the too tall intake issue by modifying the base plate of the shaker bubble.
