I've got a parts store less than a mile from home. The manager is very knowledgeable and goes out of his way to get what I need.
What sucks is that it used to be a Carquest (high prices) and now it's a NAPA. (Higher prices and lower quality). If a part isn't in the closest warehouse, I have to pay UPS shipping, too. I paid $55 for a master cylinder that was $27 at Advance. I expected high quality and got crap.
I usually end up at Advance, which is 9 miles away, but if a part needs to be special ordered, it's there the next day at no extra cost.
NAPA used to be known for its high quality and great customer service, but that seems to have been traded in for profits and apathy.
I went into an O'Reilly's once. Worst selection and lamest employees I've ever encountered. I was looking for U-bolts for an 8-3/4 and was sent to the truck lift section of the store. Hope they go out of business.
