id have to say my favorite is federated auto parts.  i might be biased since i work for united auto supply and we are supplied by federated.

when you step foot in a federated auto parts store youre going to be waited on by a full blown adult with ase certification.  its what attracted me to the company back when i was working for bumper to bumper.

if you want to be waited on by a 19 year old whos never done an oil change visit your local chain store.  if you want to be waited on by someone whos actually seen a car with a carb and points visit your local federated auto parts supplier

Amazing how many people call Advance Auto "Advanced".

They all suck, but the mom & pop stores are all gone thanks to China and corporate greed.

Dozen or so have closed in the last 20+years but we have a NEW (as of about 2-years ago) independent that I'm trying to support. They are doing so well they already have had to move to a larger location, no computers(except POS) just books with 100-yrs+ experiences behind the counter.... Rarely when I go in are there any customers in the store but all 3-5 guys are tied up on the phone with mechanics.

I've got a parts store less than a mile from home. The manager is very knowledgeable and goes out of his way to get what I need.

What sucks is that it used to be a Carquest (high prices) and now it's a NAPA. (Higher prices and lower quality). If a part isn't in the closest warehouse, I have to pay UPS shipping, too. I paid $55 for a master cylinder that was $27 at Advance. I expected high quality and got crap.

I usually end up at Advance, which is 9 miles away, but if a part needs to be special ordered, it's there the next day at no extra cost.

NAPA used to be known for its high quality and great customer service, but that seems to have been traded in for profits and apathy.

I went into an O'Reilly's once. Worst selection and lamest employees I've ever encountered. I was looking for U-bolts for an 8-3/4 and was sent to the truck lift section of the store. Hope they go out of business.

The 2-Oreilly's closest to me are like night & day, at one it's like your invisible or talking to bricks, at the other they greet you asking how they can help & will go out of their way to try to find stuff..  In the past they have ordered name brand parts & can get just about any of the speed stuff in No-Freight in a day or two but I always go in with the part number I want.

For aftermarket, Summit - no contest.

For maintaining your ride in a closer to stock configuration, these days i'm happy with O'Reilly Auto Parts; I recently picked up 4 Monroe GasMatic shocks for my Challenger and all four were in stock on the shelf

I actually have great success with my local(ish) Oreilly distribution warehouse. I have yet to go in there and not walk out with exactly what I need for any of my Mopars.
Yesterday, for the 69 Charger, it was a horn relay, ECU, bone, regulator, battery tray and holddowns, negative battery cable, engine ground strap and two replacement plug wires.  :2thumbs:

Autozone is my choice usually.  I search the parts online before I go in to the store.

Back when I was in college I worked at Bumper to Bumper, then Checker Auto Parts and my buddy worked at Napa. Bumper to Bumper was great for me and so was checker because I contacted whatever vendors I needed to get the parts I wanted for my Dart or Duster and I was a certified parts tech and everyone knew I was an old car guy so they'd only come in to order speed parts when I was around.

Now that I dont work there I go to napa but only because my buddy is still there and I get a great discount lol. Otherwise online Summit all the way! You cant beat their return policy!
