Poor quality fuel pressure gauges
« on: August 01, 2010 - 05:44:09 PM »
Got home from a cruise yesterday and found my Specter fuel pressure gauge was dribbling fuel....THAT could have been BAAAAAD!

It was just over a year old.  The lens had gone all cloudy too.

Well, went out and bought a Mr Gasket gauge.....brought it home and installed....it registered DEAD.

Took it back and exchanged for another , which is working fine....found my fuel pressure regulator had backed out a little so I set the pressure ,etc.  Seems to be a better quality piece than the specter...but made in china too.

So, what are you guys using, brand wise, for fuel pressure gauges?  Looking for accuracy (obviously) and longevity and SAFETY.

Stick with a top brand gauge such as Autometer or VDO. Spectre and Mr. Gasket are just repackaged cheap stuff. The old adage is true,  "you get what you pay for".
If I cant fix it, it's broke
