« on: August 04, 2010 - 01:36:19 AM »
How do i check to see if a 1970 charger is matching numbers? I ran the Vin and it does say it is a RT 440. But i am trying to see if its the original block (motor) so where do i look?

Thanks

on 1968 and later engines the numbers stamped on the lower rail of the engines right (passenger) side match the last 8 digits of the cars vehicle identification number

Passenger side of the block, down low. Passenger side of the transmission.

For the body, radiator support & driver's side trunk rail, dash VIN, fender tag & Mylar door sticker.

You can also check with Chris at http://www.1970chargerregistry.com/ to see if he knows anything about it.
