Brake Question # ∞

I have been having some problems with the brake pedal not popping back up after driving for a while.  Then the brakes would start going almost all the way down to the floor before stopping.  I bleed them and it got better and figured there was still some air in there and would try it again.  I bleed them for the 4th time to try and remedy the problem and now I can hardly press the brake pedal down.  I used a pressure system today (for the first time) and the rear went smooth and the fronts did not.  The front flowed and did not have any air in it, then I went to the drivers side and it was the same.  I thought that I better go back around one more time and just make sure.  Went back to the front drivers and could not get anything to come out.  Tried the drivers, same thing.  Pumped the brake pedal a few times and tried a self bleeder and had fluid coming out, driver and passenger.  After I was done, went to back out the driveway and had to press the brake pedal really hard and it seemed like I was not going to stop.  Figured maybe I could cruise around the block and it would get better, yea right!  I was wondering if it could be the prop valve?  I am puzzled, any ideas?  Thanks!

it could be a stuck piston inside the master or a faulty prop valve or a hose collapsed internally blocking flow

Thanks for the reply.  I found out that power brakes do not work so well when the booster valve is broken and your vacuum line is not hooked up.  Went and bought a new one and hooked it p.  Went for a cruise and found the same problem as before...the pedal still wants to stay on the floor after driving a while.  I have bleed them 4 times.  Frustrating!

do the pivots have bushings in them , are the pivot bolts too tight , did someone use grease to assemble the master cylinder like they did on my Charger ?

Other than the master cylinder not holding pressure all I can think of is the rear shoes not being adjusted... I encountered this on Drew's Challenger when he said he had no brakes, his brakes had all been recently replaced.. I found that the auto-adjusters on the rear drums were not engaging the star wheel.  Pull the rear drums & see if the adjuster lever is engaging the star wheel...you can press the cable to see if the lever will catch & turn the wheel.  I found that you need to "cock" the lever, grab it with pliers & pull straight down.

I have been having some other issues and have not had a chance to mess with the brakes.  The brakes work until you have driven a while, and then the pedal wants to start laying on the floor and you need to pull it up with your left foot.  I really have not driven it enough since the last time I drove it to really see how bad it is. 
There was no grease used to assemble the master cylinder, I still need to check to see if the pivots have bushings in them. I do need to pull the rear wheels and drums and make sure the star wheel is being engaged. 
I am not leaking any fluid anywhere and the reservoirs are staying full.
