Half Ton Pickup Rearend Question
« on: October 30, 2004 - 03:56:14 PM »
I found a late 60's dodge 1/2 ton truck with an 8.75 rear with 3.55 gears, couldn't tell if it was a suregrip or not without jacking up the rear, I can get the whole truck for 200.00, it was impounded and ran, has a slant 6 automatic, perfect for going to the dump etc. Anyway, I was thinking about removing the 8.75 and installing one of my A body or E body 8.25's in it and using the 8.75 rear for my own e-body. Any thoughts? Can this work without too much hastle? Since the truck is a 6 with an automatic, the rear shouldn't have been too abused! I may get the truck anyway if the rearend isn't worth messing with but thought I would kill two birds with one stone if it will work.  ;D

It probably has a different width than a e or a body but a 3.55 center section is a good median    not to high not to low             200 bucks for a driver sounds good

Much easier to use a B or  E-housing but buy the truck for working at the dump and bag the 355 chuck
for the Chally ;)
