Thanks.  The 72 Charger is actually a customer car.  Already did the paint and body on it.  Waiting for headliner, vinyl top, carpet and dash pad.

Unfortunately, yes I will need to sell it.  We are planning on moving back to Florida as soon as possible.  Our bank account is down to zero, so this will be used to finance the move and, hopefully, give us a few dollars in the bank to live on while I get my business going back home.

Looking good! But I have mixed feelings as I'm sure you do to. It sucks that your having to sell it! but glad it will get you a fresh start.

Moving to South Florida - probably northern Palm Beach County.  I grew up in Fort Lauderdale and have lots of family and friends down there.  As far as the business goes, I am going to start doing what I used to do - open a small sign shop (at which I will continue to offer repro stripes) and also sell printing.  I was self-employed before moving to TX for about 6 years or so and did very well at it.  It's all about knocking on doors and hustling - neither of which I am afraid to do.

Plus, I will continue to do car restoration work.  I used to do that as a sideline before moving to TX.  Used to buy/sell muscle cars.  Usually ones that were ugly and needed prettying up :)

Really looking forward to a fresh start

Gary,
I have been in the same circumstances as you around ten years ago. From what I can catch from surfing around here, you will do well and have much more satisfaction in doing it. My Grandfather told me many years ago (before he passed) that everyone is responsible for their own destiny. I took him on his word, and am not looking back. Sometimes it takes more time than I wish, but in the end there is no one I need to answer to but my customers. With the right kind of attitude one can't fail. My best wishes go out to you, and I can only hope the best is yet to come for you.

Haven't done much in the past week or so. Last night, I managed to reface the guages (went with white face because I really like the way they look), then I installed the new dash pad on the frame, and set it in the car to see how it would look.

Oh yeah, also found out that my engine and trans will be delivered on Saturday.  Engine got a .030 overbore, flat top pistons, redone heads, etc

I am excited now!!  :bananasmi   :bigshades:  :cooldancing:  :swaying:  :smokin:

Thanks - btw the car is actually sold but I am not sure if the new owner wants to let the cat out of the bag yet so I'll keep my mouth shut on that.  There's going to be a lull on my progress for the next few weeks as I get ready to move back to Florida.  Got to finish up a couple of customer projects first.  The new owner of the car is going to let me pack it up and bring it with me to Florida to finish it up for him.  Which is pretty coo if you ask me.  That means I'll actually get to be the first person to drive the car!  Can't wait!  I've been staring at this one for the past 5 years dreaming of the day I'd get to finish her.  Even though it won't be mine anymore, at least I'll get to take her down the road a few time  :2thumbs:
