Hello
« on: August 16, 2010 - 11:47:54 AM »
Hey everyone.  I've spent days lurking around but I don't think I've taken time to introduce myself.   My name is Doug and I live in NC about 30 miles north of Charlotte.  I picked up a 72 Challenger about 2 years ago put two quarters, trunk filler and left drip rail on her and haven't done much else but pick up parts here and there. I've decided I'm tired of her sitting in the basement.  I don't have the funds to purchase everything I need at one time so I think I'm gonna paint and dye what I can, clean everything else, put her back together and drive the heck out of her.  I cant wait!!! wish me luck...lol

Sounds like you've got a good start on a cool project.

Hey Doug,
Welcome to CC.com. Sounds like a plan. I hate not being able to drive mine so I know how ya feel. Good luck with the project. Feel free to ask questions. There's someone here that's already "been there, done that" when you get stuck with a project and need some help.

Here's some various pics from the camera.

I spent a year in auto body school and worked at a body shop for about 1.5 years.  All this was 20 years ago and we did mostly total losses, not so much restoration.  so be gentle my skillz are limited. :bananasmi

Welcome, and I totally agree with your strategy of getting her back on the road ASAP.  I've had my Roadrunner in various states of disassembly for years so when I bought my Barracuda earlier this year I swore any project on the Cuda would be limited and not take the car off the road for too long.  Otherwise you end up like we have with little to no progress after a while and no motivation to get things going because you never get to drive!
