Holy Crap!! Dr Mopar's closing and crushing next month!!!

One of the few remaining Mopar Only junkyards is closing down next month.     

The owners are good friends and members of our Austin club and they say they can't comply with state regs, so they are going to close and crush everything they have.

See I don't understand why these places don't start pulling parts or advertising. So many good parts cars get crushed b/c the owners don't bother getting the word out.

Business has changed alot in the last twenty years and some businesses don't know what they don't know.  Which is why PlumCrazy did everyone a service by sharing this info.  Not many of us can take advantage of this information but the ones that can appreciate the heads up.  This is where the web, twitter and face book come in handy.

I feel your pain. On the positive side many of our members actually help supply new parts that were not available even five years ago.  So with their help we will eventually get what we need.

I'd love to by some glass,but I'm a little leary since they are going out of business.  No way of telling what you'll get and you can sure bet there are no returns.

I understand that, but the initial cost, and quality ... makes it just as hard to swollow, way too often.

If I wasnt back in Australia at the moment i would have said, "Anybody up or a road trip?" After looking at the cars and hearing he is going to crush most of it, I say there would be plenty of bargains to be had close to closing date......

Well, they finally wrote me back, no E bodies and no A body Barracudas. Guess I won't be buying anything from them.

I've found that most old car salvage yards ran out of the good stuff about twenty years ago. When R&R closed they pretty much crushed the cars that no one wanted.
