I had Skype loaded last year for job interviews. A few weeks back it started downloading and installing updates, which, although I didn't like it, was normal enough for some applications...except that when I told it to not install them it did anyway, and wouldn't let me cancel the process, essentially hijacking my machine. I uninstalled Skype after that.
