Picked up the tranny today,  Getting the rallye dash boxed up to ship out for resto work

Heard from AMD that challenger fenders are in production, that should get the ball rolling.

I got some paint on!  All these pics were taken with a point and shoot within a one minute time frame.  I love how the paint looks so many different shades depending on the light and angle.  It sure is "YELLA"

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Unless the internals have been changed, the torque converter is not the one that was used with the 340.  The 340 converter has a wider ring gear and a higher stall.  What you have will work, but it won't be the best.  Are you going to run a stock camshaft or an aftermarket cam with more lift and/or duration?

the motor has been rebuilt to stock specs with the exception of 040 overbore.  The tranny has been tweaked a little with a shift kit, I asked him to make so it will chirp when the slap stick is used

Most of my cars are 4 speed cars, so I forget the exact stall speeds.  I think the converter you have if it is a stock rebuild is 1200.  The one that is used behind some and maybe all 340's is around 2500.  I would go with the higher stall.  It is a factory converter so it does feel like the trans is slipping.  It feels normal.  The nice thing is that when you put the car into drive it does jerk or clunk.  You will get a little improvment in performance also.  Ask your transmisson guy about it.  It is just another option that I did not know if you knew about.  Either way you build that car is "correct"  You are doing a great job.

It's probably too late, as I've only seen the first few pictures - but I would keep it exactly as it is (except for engine and driveline) Everyone and there brother has a high impact color. That is just perfect the way it is! Buy another one to "mess up"! lol! Very nice car. Exactly as it is. Edit. OK, I'm at the end of the posts so far, and it is looking GREAT! (still like the original color - but you are doing a fantastic job!)
