My 71 Cuda project

ok , ill be an a ss here. to respond to mr. zimmermans challenge. i have a total of 6500.00 in my daily driver challenger and a total of 9500.00 in my 'cuda. both include purchase prices of 2k and 3.5k . i am not trying to come off as arrogant nor do i want to be misconstrued. i realise both cars would have cost a small fortune to get where they are now if it wasnt for me doing all the work. i just see all to frequently folks stating what you cannot do for less than x amount of money. ok , ill go now.

I should have expected that, especially from you John. 
My point was, I tried, and I came close, but I couldn't do it for under 10K..
I owe the wife a synopsis of the cost of restoration this year, so I will truly find out how much money I have into it.
My point was, Not everyone is capable of the budgetary miracles, and the ability to monetarily come out on top of a resto.
I would be hard pressed to figure out how to do that on a 71 Cuda.
I'm not saying it's not possible, I say it's nearly impossible.
Expperience is probably the key to making it happen. I just don't have enough experience yet.

I agree and have come to the decision to sell my 71 Cuda.I will be listing it in the next day or so on craigslist as I would like any potential buyers to actually come and look it over in person.If there are no takers I will be stripping it and selling it off piece by piece,I WANT IT OUTTA HERE!I have found something else that I want and have some other things to take care of.

I noticed earlier today that there are two individuals on Moparts.com looking specifically for a 71 Cuda project car. I'm not sure if you've touched base with these people already or not. I'm also not sure what kind of deal they are looking for, but I thought I'd mention it just in case it could be a quicker/easier way for you to sell your car.

The car is just mocked up for reason of checking to see what it still needed,it will have to come back apart and be restored.Its a big big project with about 95% of the parts needed to make it a car again.I am selling the car with the engine(70 340 intake to pan)trans(70 727) and all the parts that I purchased for it.I have over 20 grand into it and will take $10000 cash for the whole shooting match with one stipulaition,you have to come here in person and decide if you want this big project?

One of the "interested candidates" linked above is me.  I'd be interested in knowing more; but MC's stipulation that the buyer be local or being willing to drive up and see it in person are a hanging point for those of us that are many hours away and are actually still employed.

I do have an empty garage, some free time, and a true love for the 71s though...

Hi Jon
My biggest worry is having someone be dissapointed in what they bought when it arrives to them.Second is that there are a lot of pieces and parts that go with it even as a rolling shell,complete rear frame assembly,complete doors and all of the glass and tracks needed extra gilled parts fenders,quarter skins,a roof,cowl and firewall,seats ect ect.Also this car is in project mode as far as all welding needs to be completed on the front rail install,inner fenders.I had planned on remeasuring everything once the car was fully mocked up with the engine and trans in place,just never got that far.Jon if you still have interest?e-mail me at
