How to adjust the Power Steering Box WormGear?
« on: September 03, 2010 - 02:55:24 PM »
I have seen a few threads about this, but most are referencing pictures for which the links no longer work.

I was just wondering what the easiest and proper way to adjust the steering gear is?  I am just wrapping up a header install so i have the rod popped of the steering arm anyway, so i figured before i put anything back together maybe i should check and adjust the box.

thanks!

you can usually remove some play from the nut by loosening the lock nut on the top of the box & tightening the hex or slotted bolt , make sure the box is centered [wheels straight] when you do this

You will feel it snug up , I would back off from snug ,it should steer freely over center
