Leaving the site. Have fun guys.
« on: September 04, 2010 - 10:51:49 PM »
Just wanted to let you guys know that I will be leaving the site. I figure I will probably try figuring things out on my own or maybe even do some lurking on here for things that I can't quite figure out. But I'm not going to be posting anymore. I've had a couple people on here in the last couple days try overly hard to piss me off. Gotten to the point where I can't help but want to throw cuss words out there at them. I'm sure that's probably against the rules, so my account will probably be deleted anyways.

Thanks to those of you that have provided useful information without trying to annoy people or insult their character. Have fun guys!

Just in case you did not know, there is no need for name calling on this site EVER.

Also, you can delete any thread you started here yourself.

Whether you go or stay, best of luck to you.

It is easy to misunderstand the answer, and it is also easy to misunderstand the question in any thread.  I have found in this group, if someone gives you the wrong answer ... typically there is a good reason ... and it is so easy to ask a question and not realize you have asked the wrong question ... or simply asked it the wrong way.

There is true insight to the words most of these guys give .... I would never have gotten as far as I have without them. ... when the answer seams wrong ... a little conversation will bring all parties into harmony, and enlightenment.

Patience is such a nice thing to have frustration is certainly not the way to go.

If you do pull your plug, good luck selling the fenders.

...And the patch job on your quarters.

In past, I see members just pull the plug. They don't make an announcement. Reminds me of people threatening to commit suicide.  :drama:

Come on mate. There are over 8000 members here and you're leaving because of a few posts by 2 or 3 blokes?

This isn't high school. Stop being so over-sensitive.

I will say this - a great feature on forums nowadays is the "ignore" button, which allows you to ignore all posts by certain users. Maybe in future forum upgrades this can be implemented? Great way to enjoy a forum without having to read posts from people you continually clash with.

I tried finding the ignore button lol :smilielol: I just can't find it.

As for selling the fenders, I'm not worried about that anymore. The extra money would've been nice, but not something I necessarily need. I will probably just take them to the local scrap yard and have them pay me for whatever their weight is worth.

I also looked for answers on how to delete my threads. All I found was click on the thread delete button or something like that (which I still haven't been able to find) or ask an admin to remove the thread. I asked for admins to remove it, but alas no luck. If someone could inform me as to where the delete thread button is I would happily deal with that thread.

Looks like it has been deleted.

Regarding the fenders ... what sort of condition are they in?

Maybe just clean them up and chuck them on eBay with local pick up only.

... or keep them around until there's a swap-meet near-by.

... or just hang on to them and trade them for something you may need down the road. Forget about $ worth. You're bound to find someone that will have a wheel/console/gauges/grill/headlights/spring/carby or something else you're bound to need/want sooner or later.

Probably wouldn't get $20 from a scrap yard.

Yeah I noticed that.

They are in pretty good shape. I would be surprised if it took 2-3 hours to get them ready for paint.

Chill out mopar bro. This place isn't the easiest to figure out.Sounds like you were asking the same questions and wanting different answers. You will not find a better group of people on the subject. I trust this place. But don't get along with everyone either.that's natural.  We all have a common bond that goes deeper than that. And we all get frustrated. I can so relate ...

i am going to make this one last post on this subject to set the record straight. this guy is coming on here acting as he is innocent and people are picking on him. everyone read the details in the thread but they are nothing compared the pms this guy sent me, i am sure the moderators can read them and if anyone is interested i have them all saved, he is rude ,immature and made threats that boarder on criminal and if he is smart he wont attempt. i have bought and sold many items on here and moparts and i have never had a problem with anyone ever and from what i have read on here this kid has and for some reason he is being babied , and why i dont understand. everyone on here has had deals that fell through for one reason or another but i have never seen anyone go on a rant like this guy and like i said i wont print the details. after paying for the fender i obviously wanted it and when he couldnt figure out how to get it shipped other then $714 though ups or $70 from greyhound he offered to just refund my money so i said ok send me back the money, i told him i just sent a 71 fender from n.y. to Kentucky for under $150 and got my new 71 fenders from e body products for $135 to my door (thanks dan)he told me i was crazy and he wasn't paying that much to ship it so he never checked with any freight companies or anywhere else , and then sent me the refund along with a pm saying thanks for wasting his time, i have to be honest i was a little pissed by that. then the real crazy pms started. so i would like to leave it at that, if you talk to anyone that i bought or sold parts to or have been to my house, nothing like this has ever happened with anyone else before. i was also reminded by mr tarbox, that he had my home address, i got one thing to say about that,it would be a big mistake.i just felt i had to clear the air as i did not want to end up looking like the bad guy on this.

@572b1cuda

You said the $150 was through ups. Obviously I had already talked to ups as I told you that. Apparently you weren't listening. As for the $135 that was through an actual business, and businesses tend to get discounts on shipping that normal people do not.

Now please stop hijacking my threads. You weren't even mentioned in this one and therefore nobody thought of you as the bad guy. At this point it just looks like you are coming in here to create more problems. Let it go, and I'll do the same.

Dont know the situation but I've said this before... I've been on several car sites including Ferd and Chebby sites and this one by far is the most easy going group of people that I have came across. I've been on here for 3 1/2 years and other than some big block vs small block smack talking (all for fun I might add) I have seen very little derogatory things going on. Hope you solve your issues cause your not going to find a better group of guys and gals anywhere!! :2thumbs:
