Brad can post a photo of the controller?  I may have another source for this component.

They came in a shrink tube so I cut it off. Any idea's? :worshippy

I scraped off the white out /paint on the longer square dudad...it says PIC16F630
                                                                                                                -I/P ( THEN "E3" with a circle around it?)
0948469 with a looks to be "m" logo?

If that helps? :dunno: it's all french to me!
I'm wondering if it's something wrong in one of the light boards?

What I don't understand is how the Mopar turn signal can be different than the Ford's.    :clueless:

It also bothers me that apparently these aren't tested before they are shipped.

Knowing a little bit about electronics. The 16F630 is a programable CMOS Microcontroler. Once programed it becomes dedicated to that use. Thats why they put the white out on it. You can not just buy one and replace it without the program code to flash it with. The rest of the board looks like mostly power control transistors and a few resistors. Those would be needed just to switch the current to the LED's. That little microcontroler could not switch much power before frying.

Both the light boards and that controler i'm sure can be tested alone to find the fault.

Thanks for the reply Dave!
Electronics are NOT my thing!  :grinno:  This is the issue.....everything is OK works great until you click on the right side turn signal with the headlights or parking lights on. Then we get a "ghosting" effect in that the right side flashes dimmer but so does the left side only much dimmer?
Any idea's come to mind?

I solder a dedicated ground wire to each of my tail light sockets that gets grounded at one end just so I I don't have any strange problems like this. Remember, electrons flow negative to positive so the source is actually the frame and body.

Brad, have you tried wiring everything up on a bench with a battery and bulbs to see if the same problem is there?  Have you tried a good ground on all of your sockets? Just using wire and alligator clips will work for testing.

The LED grounds to a stud on one of the taillight assembly.  I sanded off some paint to ensure a good ground? The sockets I just clip back in the hole they don't do anything( no bulb) No I never tested them on a bench first?

I got to agree with ShelbyDogg. Check the grounds to the control board and the led's first. Sounds like current leaking past the switching transistors. They need to be biased corectly or they will not turn all the way off. A bad ground to the control board would do this.

Look at United Pacific LED sequential module #90656  - It's sold as a kit for segmented arrays.

I'm with you Brad - electronics is no-mans land for me. Might as well be talking in Czechoslovakian.

All I can add to the situation is - whatever way you go, don't forget the ground wire! hahaha

Here's a quick vid my Chally. Not made specifically to showcase these LED's, but toward the end you can see how well the brake lights work.

If I remember, I'll head back tomorrow and film a bit more, and be sure to include the indicator & running lights for clarification.

Any progress Brad?

Nope still waiting on controler # 3 .... :-\  I send him another e-mail  last week reminding him I was still waiting on another controler? I have a feeling I'll be going back to the stock set up?
