my labor day labor
« on: September 06, 2010 - 06:57:01 PM »

been quite a while since I've posted or have done anythig to my little red project.  So over the last few weeks I've been ordering up some stuff.  With this being labor day, i labored in my garage :working: and install almost all of my new steering and suspension parts on the front end..  It took a while to find the best deals but I got everything i needed through amazon.  alot less expensive and didnt pay for any shipping.  I think the next little project will be the new legendary vinyl top,  after that all weather stripping, firewall and other assorted gaskets.

I used the moog lca bushings instead of the poly ones in the kit.  It wasnt difficult to remove the old sleeves.  Also didnt use the poly boots for the tierods. So would anyone be interested in either of these items?  And on another not,  I was going to put the rotors on so I can get this thing off the cart but :crying: I cant find one thrust washer, nut and locknut for one side.. Anyone have some they would be interested in selling me?  I tried advance and they would need to order some in and the price is kinda high.

I'm interested in the poly LCA bushings! What brand are they and how much do you want for them?  Sorry I don't have any spares for the rotor hardware.
Thanks Brad

Doug, if they are the same as the drums, I have the washer/nut/locknut for you. No charge, PM me if you want them.

Brad,, the polys are energy suspension, i also have the poly tierod boots im not going to use, because the ones on the new rods look like they are pressed on with a metal band inside of them and i really dont feel like taking them off,  Also, looks like I have 1-1/2" leaf spring bushings that were in the kit along with the 2" ones that I am using.so they are up for grabs as well.. For you Brad,,  cover the shipping on the lcas and 5 bucks,,  shipped from 21401 unless your local.
Dave,,, I think the spindles are the same,, Are you still with the co?  I'll be working on Riva road later this week at the cvs, maybe i can get them when I'm there or I can make another arrangement. I'll be working the night shift tue, wed and thurs so I may have late mornings and early afternoons to swing by.  Oh ya,, did I see your car at a shop in Crofton recently?

Doug,

Good to see you are alive and well. It's been a couple of years I think.

I think washer, nut and lock are the same for both spindles. Doug, I'm still in the area. The problem is I need help finding them!!! After the last move all my parts are crammed into a shed 3 sizes too small. I know the parts you need are in there somewhere... :pullinghair:

Oh yeah. I have been asked if that was my car before. Other people have seen that one. I have been in the Crofton area with the car not more than a few weeks ago. But if it didn't have the trailer attached, it is not mine.
