I know this is an older post but this might help, I ran into the same problem after 10 glass shops and not lucky on the internet I decided to make my own, now not as good as originals but seem to do the job, I went to home depot and bought rubber crown moulding gennerally what you see in office buildings, took one of my old inserts that had not crumbled to pieces, cut out the design four timesand cut strips for the back side , got some mole hair fabric from a fabric store glued fabric to the rubber using Elmers craft glue as this will not seep thru the fabric, then used weather strip adhiesive to glue into the channel. I let set for a few days and installed, I am not saying that they are perfect but keeps the glass from hitting the metal and is functional. plus not expensive I think I spent less the $20.00 to do this and I can move on to the next step interior
