My car was a column shift from the factory. I swapped out to a slap stick. They are not that hard to find. Here,E-bay, Moparts ..... Type in "slap stick shifter" on E-bay and there are always parts on there. You can see the differences between the 70 and 71-74's also? Keep an eye out on here too as it's a popular swap to install a 4 speed so someone might have a "package deal" ?
There are 2 Slap stick shifters . One for a 1970 e-body and another for a 71-74 e-body. The 70 shifter uses a round ball and the chrome shaft is round too. The 71-74 uses the t-handle shifter and a squared off chrome shifter shaft.
Mine came with a B&M shifter and I hated it, first thing I took off! I went with a 71-74 as I liked the style better?
You will need,
slap stick shifter,
linkages,( both above ,going through the floor , and under the floor to attach to the tranny, and tranny shifter arm.)
Floor brackets for shifter and console ( they are re-popped new now....?)
Tranny bracket, Your tranny has to have the mounts for the bracket!
Console
Wiring for the shift indicator bulb.
Then you need to see member Quapman ( Steve) on here and get an autogrip shifter!
Very cool, great quality and workmanship too!
