« on: September 14, 2010 - 02:04:20 PM »
i was going to use the voodoo 405 cam in my stroker but before i order it i would like to see about the hughes
heh 4246 al here are the specs .555/.569  242/246  lsa is 108
the voodoo is .533/.552  242/252  lsa is 110/106.

if i go with the hughes i don't need new springs but is the voodoo a better cam?

Its all about what you want in the end.

The cams look pretty close to me on paper, you may want to just go with the voodoo if your are sure that you can keep the springs you have?

If there was more of a difference between the two I would have said go with what ever camkit makes you happiest.

I have had problems dealing with Hughes in the past , he used to buy from Engle so I switched to buying direct from Engle , the customer service was far better , since the demise of Engle I have used Lunati , I have no clue who is grinding Hughes cams for him now so I have avoided them. + I don`t like being lied to

Don't like the Hughes Cams as in order to take advantage of the .904(Or whatever it is), Chrysler Lifter, the Hughes cams tend to wear out in a very short time...A friend was gonna order one and asked about the longevity of their cams and this was Hughes' reply: :Well, your gonan frshen the engine anyway right?"

As for the Lunati "VooDoo" cams, I ordered one for the BB Chrysler and measured the lift by old formula. (Total lift, then base, subtract the two and X by 1.5 to give you lift at the valve) and found what was sold as a .533 ended up being .650 at the valve. Good 'ol Comp has never done me wrong, but i'm sure someone here will have had a Comp cams problem as well....
