The kit was 1/2" had to leave out one plate & 1 gasket to get at least a little clearence,it's about3/8ths of an inch, hottest she ever hit so far is 230. most of the time holds right around the 190-200 mark, I have yet to buy my 22" shroud & a bracket kit, (no shroud at all right now) will do that over this winter, I have an over flow bottle for it,same as the one thats on my 74,hoping that will mount right up once I get the shroud, but my 74 has the 26" rad, guess I'll see when I get the shroud.
