Newbi From Michigan
« on: September 14, 2010 - 08:09:07 PM »
Hello all, I have some friends that have mention this sight and i know its a good source of information. What i have is 1971 numbers matching Challenger RT, FE5 red, 383, column auto 3.91 posi 8.75. I bought my challenger 2 years ago and the paint and some of the prior restoration was ok at best. I came across a local dealership to see if one of the guys there that i heard does resto work at the shop and on the side to have a look at my challenger. They have a great store dedicated to restoration parts and a Cuda on floor for display. Mopar Mans candy store. Well he turned out to be a pretty good friend. After Mopardave and i did some work last year. I decided the car wasnt up to par and to mine or Daves liking.  it was an older restoration of like 10 years ago and was painted in a single stage. Well last fall in october I parked the car at mopardave house and we proceeded to take the car apart. I thought we would just detrim the outside but to my surprise Dave took it all the way down to a bar roller with just the glass remaining. Had to do a little patch work on the left rear quarter, right quarter a small patch down by the rocker and a trunk floor, I was shock on how pitted and holy the trunk was. I never really looked under that trunk mat. January we shipped the car out for fresh FE5 paint

:2thumbs:  Welcome to site.  Great looking challenger.  Amber high beams, wow, that brings back about 38 years of memory for me.  Not trying to hi-jack your thread, but I put ambers in my 1st car, then I rigged some in my Cuda.  Anyway, you've got a beautiful mopar...and where in MI are you?

I had to have them in my Cuda back when she was new.
