« on: September 16, 2010 - 08:43:38 PM »
Is that what these are, are they worth anything? I can't use them.

Yep, look like T/A rockers to me. Do you have a full set? I might be interested in buying for future use. Yes they are worth something. I don't think they are reproduced, but don't know for sure. Barry should know and maybe give a value.

Do you have a clearer picture?

Not reproduced that I know of. As far as value I have no clue, I have never had to locate a set.

What's the difference between T/A rockers and 273 rockers?

The pics above show them. The exhaust rockers are similar to OEM solid lifter 273 and Crane ductile iron small block rockers. The angled rockers are original on 340 6-pack engines because their heads have the intake pushrod hole machined further away from their respective intake ports. That was to allow porting out the pushrod hole pinch in the intake port.

Considering the rocker stand blocks, those particular rockers may be what Mopar Performance use to sell. Milling the OEM cast stands and putting the blocks on was done to improve valvetrain geometry and possibly for valve spring clearance.

Any porting, bigger valves and/or dual valve springs?

I have never done a side by side comparison myself, but from memory;

273 rockers are straight, none are angled like the T/As.

273s also use a hollow adjuster screw while the 340-6 rockers use the same screws & locknuts as the 426 Hemi.

3577 076 - Intake RT

3577 077 - Intake LT

3577 078 - Exhaust

Maybe the part numbers changed at some point? It happened occasionally, the ones above are in the 1970-71 parts book.

I bought and used some NOS ones in the box about 6 or 7 years ago, when I needed some for my T/A. I actually posted a want ad and someone replied right away. I think I spent $300 at that time but its been awhile. I think I saved the boxes. If I have time this weekend, I'll check to see if I have them boxes with the part number on it.

I would think there are some projects out there that need rockers. Mine did. You might want to ebay em? I'll pop some bids in if  you go that route.

The T/A rocker shafts also have a machined slash(don't know what the technical term for it is) cut through the oiling holes like your picture shows.

I have the Rocker shaft stands the T/A rockers (so I'm told by everyone on Cuda-Challenger that they are T/A 340 6 pack) and a set of push rods that I'd like to sell.  If I can get $375 plus shipping I'll be able to get my 308 heads converted to 2.02 valves and man will I be happy....  These Rockers are of no use to me.  Casting number are 3577692, 3577071 and 3577074.  They do have the grooved type rocker shafts.

If you need more photos send me and e-mail and I'll get what ever details I can.
