70 chally, getting there
« on: September 18, 2010 - 05:23:44 PM »
After a year and a half and a lot of money, sweat, and sleepless nights, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.  No it is not a train but at times I thought it was. I need to thank a ton of guys on the board.  It would take me all day to name them all but they know who they are.  When I started this car it was a shell that had been started as a pro street car project.  I didn't want that so took out the tubbs and replaced trunk, wheel houses, rearframes, shock frame, rear seat pan, hood, both valences, and a ton of other parts. Dropped a mildly built 440 (with pointers from Chryco),  B-body rear end with 323 posi. I still need to put the carpet in, the seats are getting done as I type, the exhaust go on this week (flowmasters and stainless tips).  I took it for a drive today, just a few miles around the community (still has open headers but I couldn't resist).  I told my wife I wanted to drive it by my birthday which is Thursday so I did. I just had safe-lite put my windshield and rear window in.  Thanks, Danny   Oh yeah the first picture of the engine is old.  I still have to do a ton of fine tuning adjusting hood, trunk, etc, and finish installing the interior and seatbelts but I did drive it today.  :burnout:

Congratulations, I'm sure the first completed drive will be the sweetest. I'm can't wait to drive mine  and i've only had it since April and i'm busting at the seams. With all your hard work the wait will be worth it. :2thumbs:

Looking good Danny. We need to get together soon and take pics with our cars.
By the way, I have resized your pictures for you, for better viewing.  Congratulations, Rick

Thanks, I was wondering if I should black out everything behind the grill?  I am leaning towards doing that.  Also I was wondering wether to put the R/T black long stripes on the side.  I have the R/T Badges to go on the fenders but not sure which I prefer.  I am also putting a ducktail T/A type spoiler on it verses the go wing, I just prefer it.  What say you guys?

Nice car.

Just curious about what color it is?

It is hard to tell sometimes in pictures.

Thanks

Factory color Bright/Ralley Red.  I'm thinking BE5 or something like that can't remember the exact code.  Danny

Yeah, I like those stripes as well.  I'm also going with the 15" ralleys when funds will allow.  Thanks, Danny
