"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Thanks guys.  The donor car was a major hurdle for me here on the east coast.  Most of the cars I looked at were either too nice for a donor or the guy thought he had a chunk of gold residing somewhere under all that rust.  I feel rest assured that I have almost all the parts I need and a reference to go by when it comes time reassemble the car. Now about that Hemi.............?

The funny thing is that the farther I get in to it I realize that I don't know what to know and the challenge is to streamline the negatives.  I am good at figuring most things out but the car is so much fun to watch progress with a methodical series of processes in the journey.

looks great.  :2thumbs:

when i did my '72, i POR15'ed the underside of my car. sprayed DuPont Varaprime on it.
then came a non-sandable primer (also DuPont) then 2 coats of Diamont base coat and clear.

:eek7: yea, i know, but there's hasn't been any problems with the paint cracking or peeling.
if you use a wet sanding primer for the underside, you'll be there for days getting all the nooks
and crannies  :pullinghair:

here's a couple of pick of what i did. hope this helps.

Man that looks great. So the primer will stick to the POR15? What kind of prep did you have to do if any? I am getting close to blasting the bottom but I stll have some suspension work to weld in and prepare before I can get to the bottom. Good work.

i put por15 on mostly the rear end of the body. from the rear floor pans, back to the tail panel. had the rest blasted.
wiped all the bare metal with lacquer thinner and coated everything in DuPont varaprime. as for the primer, i used something
from DuPont, can't remember the name, but it didn't need to be wet sanded. once the primer was on, i scuffed the whole
underside, trunk, engine compartment, basically everything that needed to be cut in, wiped it down with prepsol and then
painted and cleared.
