    Line Lock advice needed please.....

     I got the Hurst Line Lock, but I'm not sure how to hook it up. I want to hook it up so it locks the front wheels.
       My proportioning valve looks different than what I see in the Hurst instructions.

      The top (vertical) brake line in the picture is the front line coming from the master cylinder, the next two horizontal lines are the left and right lines going to the brakes.

     Do I need a different proportioning valve?

    you need to remove the 2 lines from the proportioning valve , block one port with a plug & run a line from the other port  into the line lock then Tee in both lines from the line lock out to the wheels

    Just playing devil's advocate here, I thought the disc brakes had two separate lines for fluid volume, so if you plug one and run the two calipers off one line, aren't you compromising your front brakes for normal use?  :dunno:

    I went between the prop valve and the master when I originally installed mine. I'm not sure why you would block off the port on the prop valve either

     After looking at the instructions again, I see that Chryco's advice and the Hurst instructions are the same.
      Also, every installation they show has the line lock going in after the proportioning valve. I'd sure like to understand why......

    if you install before the prop valve the in-balance in the prop valve will trip the brake warning lite as mentioned above

    Good info so if you put it befor the valve will the light reset itself after you release the line lock?
    Sorta like a line lock engaged light  :burnout:

    no the light will stay on until you do a hard application of the brakes to reset it
