71 Challenger Dash Install
« on: September 22, 2010 - 02:08:51 PM »
Hi guys,

If I have the entire dash out, frame and all, can I assemble everything outside the car (gauges, vents, radio, pad, etc.) and then install it all at once?  It took me forever to just get the pad out and I would rather install it as one unit and be done.  Thanks

Dave

That is how the factory did it.

I usually install it as an assembly, wiring harness and all. Way easier and less time.

Perfect then that's what I will do.  Any pit falls I should be looking out for?

For the dash pad installed onto the dash frame:

On the center studs; do not tighten down all the way. The dash needs to expand and contract to cold and hot. Doing this, well lessen the possibility of the dash cracking in the middle as many end up being as they get older.
