Nice pics and info. I love all the progress pics. Making want to buy alot of things at the Nats next weekend that I know I won't..lol..Being a Gran build, will you use the overhead console as well? I've always liked those.

Welcome from another Mopar Washingtonian!  Your project is coming along nicely.  Those seat belts look like they could benefit from some SEM Fabric Black spray.

I'd be curious if someone might could clue us in, as to why there is a difference between yours and mine, especially since they were built one month apart, but at different assembly plants.

my build date is 12-69, and it's a Hamtramack car.  mine still has the original paint too.  the raised ridges, and each end are not painted though; that part is the bright aluminum.  you could probably wipe off the ridge with a cloth saoked in paint thinner, very gently of course.  thats what i am going to do.

You and i are on the same page!  i did not want a clone 'cuda, i wanted a Gran Coupe with a 440!

 Yes, the console will stay in but I am not installling the floor console. Installing just the boot and square with the hurst pistol grip sticking out.

I am going to dye em with the RIT High concentration, HOT Water, Cold rinsing has worked for many without bleeding if done right!. Will post pics later when all done.

Did not dye them yet, but i scrubbed about a pound of red dirt from central oregon out of em.

 

Still need to paint the catch mechanisms SEM trim Black.

Nice clean up job!  I would have cleaned mine.....If i had any to start with.  i had to buy new blue ones.

I'm trying to git the wifey to remove the origional white part number tags so's  can dye the Belts and have her sew them back on!! She is a better sewer than I . If I tore it in the military I just bought new and wife did all the sewing woik.  Now everything is just velcro!

I am pulling the trigger on a f440 hp 1970 complete rebuilt pump gas motor so will be selling the e-440 69 block.

I am very excited like a kid anticipating opening Christmas presents in the morning, bought a new engine hoist, and have cleared out a spot for the 440 when it arrives I will not be sleeping well as my mind will be racing about the new engine install.

1970 F 440 Hp with forged crank. From his ebay add:  The engine is painted in it's original street Hemi orange ,    This is a FORGED STEEL CRANK  engine. It's complete from carb to pan. Built with only the finest parts. Up graded forged Keith Black pistons .030 over, with speed pro molly rings.  ( I NEVER bore  a big Chrysler block more than .040 for street use, They sometimes  run HOT.)   The rods were resized and  fitted with ARP rod bolts. The complete rotating assembly was balanced. A  New Hydraulic  cam  and lifters with double roller timing chain and gears were also installed. A complete 3 angle valve job with hard seats for unleaded gas was given to the stock  castings along with the factory correct valve covers. Fresh off the test stand and ready to drop into your car. It will include the upper and lower pullies with new fan belt, as well as a new  fuel  pump , water pump front case housing and new aluminum Hi volume water pump. Also included is a new alternator and all the factory correct mounting brackets that go with it. You also get the spark plugs and wires along with an Accell super coil. Everything you need to plug and play.  The engine will also include a NEW Edelbrock  4 bbl. carb, or Holley 

   He is a prety cool guy nice to talk to and is selling another e-440 block right now and said he may want my 69 block to build. nothing but 100% feedback rating from his ebay store.

There will be PLENTY of pics I will post the whole installation from many angles and some good shots of the block. Has the 4-speed bushing and also he is changing the pully set up for my powersteering pump.

that sounds like a real nice set-up.  my 440 is .040 over, and it does seem to run warm, but within the rectangle on the guage.  it is a 1978 casting, with a cast crank.  i used a cam that is pretty close to a stock 1970 440 magnum grind.  i am runing A/C, so i didn't really need it to be too lumpy.
