Dual Snorkel air breather
« on: September 26, 2010 - 06:51:00 PM »
I have a dual snorkel 4 barrel air breather with the aluminum 340 four barrel pie pan. Lid has been dropped at some time denting the rim should be easy to fix. Just the outside lip is dinged up. Other than this it's in excellent shape.

I'm not sure what it's worth asking $225 plus shipping.

Can I assume I'm way off on the value of this item?

I don't know but a couple of years ago similar pieces were bringing that much on eBag.

To me, and take no offense, but it is incomplete and has dents for the premium price

I just sold one at Carlisle for $150.00. It was in very good complete condition, no dents, rust, corrosion ect. I noticed (at Carlisle) that the average asking price was about $225.00 for one in perfect condition. I was trying to sell mine. Not keep it! :smilielol: Hope this may provide a basis for valuation. Most folks here sell items very reasonable trying help fellow enthusiasts!

I've experienced just what you talked about with helping others.  As I said I have no idea what its worth. I was going off what I saw on e-bay. My mistake.

It's of no use to me, what's missing that makes it not complete.

You might want to sell the pie pan seperately from the a/c. 340's never came with a dual snorkle.

Run the correct style vacuum lines and Tee to the flaps and then check and verify that they open :2thumbs: Not a big issue, but is usually sold with all intact for that asking price. The 340 air breathers I recall had 1 inlet tube with a back opening flap, or 2 holes with the inlet tubes missing. Still a good breather/cleaner
