Hey guys just curious does anyone have any idea about EFI, do you actually see gains in HP and efficiency. Is it worth the high price of the kit and the difficult install?

Not sure about other systems but the Edelbrock Pro Flo 2 system from my understanding is a pretty complete kit and fairly easy to install and tune. That  being said talking to edelbrock, they said its not uncommon to pick up 4 mpg when changing from a carburetor. Also with the fuel injection warming up the car is more like a new car and you don't have to wait 10 minutes before you hit the road on those cold mornings. To me its worth the money, and when i do get the money together I will be ordering a system from Edelbrock.

When I get some cash saved up, I'm going with Retrotek EFI.

Cheaper and easier to install than Eddy or Holley.

That system is easier to install, and there are a few companies out there that make EFI systems like that, the advantage to the edelbrock system is multiport system which is more efficient and more tunable.

Is that 1700 for the whole set up that would be mighty nice

Eddy has a series of intakes predrilled for injection with matching fuel rails .
 It is definatly an improvement but expensive to get all the parts together , the power & efficiency is improved for sure once it is tuned in

Yep, $1700 for the whole enchilada (except gas tank, fuel lines, wire, etc.).

A member at The Road Runner Nest has this setup on his 440 and loves it.

EFI has many advantages, but more power is not one of them. If you see more power with EFI than with a carb, you didn't have the carb tuned properly. Usually, the biggest benefit outside of improved driveability and fuel economy, is a flatter torque curve, with more useable torque at any given rpm under torque peak.

I tend to disagree , with the correct amout of fuel delivered rigth behind the valve , better emulsion we have seen 25 or better  HP gains

Yep, the biggest drawback to EFI is the cost..Until FI hits the same mark to where I can buy a carb an intake for, then I'll stick with my Holley DP...
