This is the only picture I took while on patrol in el-ameria outside of Camp Victory / Liberty in 2004. She was not in bad shape but the LT never let me get close to take a look. By the time I got command of my own guntruck she was gone!! Enjoy.

I recognized her shape as just before I deployed my father in law had his cuda on a rotisserie. I spotted her quick. The challenger was yellow but was not able to check for numbers, did not have dents just looked like it was picked apart. Probably belonged to one of the 52 deck Goons under Saddams command as it was in that area of baghdad and about  a year after shock and awe bombing probably belonged to OOODAY or GOOONSAY!!!

Very cool man! I saw a fairly new Caddilac in Sadr City in 2003. It was probably a 2001 or 2002. It was in a very nice (for Iraq) area. Interesting. It's also funny how most of the cars over there are BMW's, and in America they are considered luxury cars...

Yeah, BMW's were everywhere and a favorite for making into car bombs. Responded to one that blew up on Route Irish just in front of the ECP targeting a Rino bus that was traveling back from the green zone. Barely hurt the bus but there was nothing left of the BMW except for a alternator and disk brake all warped and distorted. It blew out windows of the locals 400 yrds on either side of the Highway. We were about 8 blocks away when it went and felt it through the ground hard. I thought the challenger may have been trapped as well since that area was a favorite for launching rockets at the base. Might have risked it to take a look, I mean I searched over 1000 vehicles in random patrols and snatch and grabs and any one could have been a car bomb, actually found a volkswagon with the taxi cab orange fenders that was being made into one just didn't have the explosives yet , ( normally 3 to 10 artillary round rigged ) when it's your time it's your time. Guy driving the car failed swipe test for explosives and nitrates.

 Most of the roads were paved but right there was a dirt road that connected two streets we stopped drivin on due to the possible landmine threat only dismounted through there later on. I bet that chally could kick up a moondust cloud higher than an abrams.

In 2003 when we were moving north from Karbala, I was gunning in the back of hummer back then we didnt have the gun truck variants, I seen a little red express just sitting next to a building and it look to still be road worthy???  I thought that was pretty cool, but a Challenger now that is SWEET!

 I wanted to go check it out bad, everytime we drove past that area I would look at it and after it was gone,.. sometimes I still looked. Well now I have my own Barracuda and can do what I want with it and know it won't be abandoned in a war zone.
