Uhhh, what's an AX-15? It came from or is similar to what?

I know there is a bell housng out there that will adapt saginaw/muncie/richmond cases to the mopar block. If it's from one of those families, you might have a shot, but there is still input shaft length, spline count and shaft diameter to consider when trying to find a clutch assy.

The 5 speed manual transmission is from a 1992 Dakota with a 3.9 v6.
On reflection I don't think it will be man enough.

I think those were used in Jeeps as well. If it's what I'm thinking of, it's considering a week trans.

I was looking into this swap a while back for a small block till my friend that worked at Chrysler told me that none of the 5.9s EVER came with that tranny behind it. (Too weak)

What is the transmission that is behind the Supra?  I thought that it was an AX-15.  I've seen a few posts on these and once these guys are complete that still have a bunch of money involved and a vast variety of custom components.

Supra's had R154's and W58's. The R154's were in the turbo models, and are the stronger 5 speed. Surprisingly enough, you can use an AX-15 bell housing to bolt an R154 straight up to a small block mopar. Not sure you could make something work with a 383 though.
