Paint gun help --it drips

After 6 years of working on the car as time and $ allowed, I sprayed some 2K primer on it. Several years ago I had the body dipped and sprayed etch primer, before I could finish the gun was dripping from the nozzle when I let go of the trigger. I cleaned it up replaced the fluid tip and gasket and when I spayed the 2K today the first couple of times it was OK then it started dripping bad every time I let go of the trigger. It is a DeVilbiss FLG3 it was new when I sprayed the etch.
Are these junk guns or do I need to replace the fluid needle and get a new tip again, I used a 1.8 tip as suggested for the primer. Please help.

I would go thru it really good and inspect everything. Re assemble and start playing with the adjustments.

2 weeks ago I couldn't get my gun to shoot primer and was dripping. Turned out the air adjustment screw on the bottom and then it began to be working fine again.

I once made a mistake when I mixed the paint, it was too thick. Gave the same results

Maybe the packing seal is bad.

I agree with Topcat. Take it apart and clean it out really good. Start over with your adjustments. It sounds like either old dried paint in the gun or chunks of stuff from the paint can. Does it drip if you spray some straight reducer through it?

Save the good guns for final seal, b/c, c/c. Use a HF cheap one for first epoxy primer work. You'll be sanding it down anyway.

given that all seals and gaskets are good , if it drips, it could be 3 things, worn/damaged fluid tip, bent/damaged/worn needle ,needle/material adjustment is not screwed in far enough for the needle to make proper seal with fluid tip.

BTW, bent needle can make all sorts of mess and uneven spray pattern
